Maty Ryan has made a loan switch to Arsenal for the remainder of the 2020/21 season. The Aussie shot-stopper fell dramatically down the pecking order at Brighton after a poor start to the season; eventually being replaced by Spaniard Robert Sanchez as number 1, and even Jason Steele as number 2. It is expected that Maty will join the Gunners as their second-choice keeper, and will where the number 33 shirt at the club he first supported as a child.
The Moises Caicedo deal is nearly complete. The Albion have finally managed to secure a work permit for the Ecuadorian, and he is expected to fly to Brighton in the coming days to finalise a deal, subject to a medical. The 19-year old attracted attention from other Premier League clubs, such as Everton, Newcastle and Manchester United, but it would appear that Caicedo has chosen the South Coast as his preferred destination. There are rumours that Brighton will lone the player to Belgian outfit Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, the other club owned by Tony Bloom (Sky Sports). If true, Caicedo would follow in the footsteps of South African star Percy Tau, who was also loaned to the Belgian side while Brighton worked on his permit.
Polish duo Jakub Moder and Michal Karbownik have been recalled from their loan spells at Lech Poznan and Legia Warsaw respectively. Moder, 21, and Karbownik, 19, are expected to join the first team squad immediately, although it is unclear as to whether either will force their way into the starting XI. The introduction of Karbownik to the squad has had a knock-on effect, as Bernardo has been loaned to Red Bull Salzburg, the side Bernardo played for before Albion signed him from RB Leipzig.
